SuperValu Winter League
The SuperValu Winter League continues every Tuesday evening at Kildalton College, Piltown. With this week's countdown to zero run not counting for overall scoring, the points gained over the final three evenings (Jan. 31st and Feb. 7th and 14th) will be vital in deciding this year's winners. The league is currently led by Cian Power but there is a whole host of runners in position to launch a serious challenge over the next two weeks. It should all lead to yet another exciting finish.
The clock starts at 7pm as usual and don't forget to wear your hi-viz vest and, of course, your number!
All-Ireland Masters Double for Martina
The All-Ireland Masters Indoors Championships were held in Nenagh on Sunday week last. Carrick AC's Martina O'Dwyer made the long journey well worthwhile when taking gold medals in both the 800m and 3000m Over-35 events. Martina clocked a time of 2mins 31sec in the 800 with Letterkenny AC's Sharon Bradley in second place while her winning time in the 3000 was a very impressive 10:39. Martina's current form bodes well for the upcoming road-race season and no doubt we will be seeing her in action again in all the major events.
