 SuperValu Winter League is back !

 

The SuperValu Winter League returns after a short break for Christmas this Tuesday, January 3rd, at Kildalton College, Piltown. The clock will start at 7pm sharp with runners starting at two-minute intervals based on their times over the course to date.Remember to bring the number you received at registration and to wear a high-viz vest while running.It is not too late to join this year's league which will continue every Tuesday evening for the next six weeks.This weekly run is ideal for anyone who has resolved to get fit for 2012 and will be followed by the club's very popular Fit for Life programme - so dust off the runners and come along to Kildalton any Tuesday evening.    

 

Tony O' Connell 4-mile Race  

 

A record field of 420 runners lined up for the annual 4-mile road race organised by Clonmel AC on St. Stephen's Day.David McCarthy (West Waterford) led the way home in the men's race, clocking a very fast time of 18:58. Victory in the women's event went to Siobhan Doherty (Borrisokane) in 22:55.Carrick AC's first finisher was David Waters in 24:27.Our first lady home was Orla Power in 28:54.

Baldy Man Run in Tramore

 

The popular Baldy Man Run was held on Tramore beach last Wednesday, December 28th, attracting a total of 320 runners. The men's race was won by Kevin Dooney (Raheny) in 30:41 while West Waterford's Corinna Walsh took the ladies' race in 37:38.Carrick AC's Patrick Roche put in a great run to finish in eighth position overall with a time of 34:07. Not far behind Patrick came Tommy Falconer (35:40) while Tom Egan clocked 38:51.Gordon Collins completed this challenging course in 44:45 while our only representative in the ladies' race was Geraldine Houlihan who finished in 50:28.

 

 Goal Mile

 

Well done to all who turned up at Ormonde Castle,Carrick-on-Suir on Christmas morning to support our annual Goal Mile.This was the fifth year of this event in Carrick and  a huge amount has been raised for this most worthy cause thanks to your generosity. A special word of thanks goes to Mags Power for once again organising the event and to all who assisted her with the collection in Carrick on Christmas Eve.
