FIT4LIFE 2010
Fit4Life 2010 is now well underway with beginners and seasoned runners coming along every Tuesday for their weekly club training session.Fit4Life is free to all club members. The only requirement is a reflective bib must be worn while running.  Following a group warm-up at 7pm in Kildalton College the group splits in three.

Beginners group comprises those new to running and uses the run walk technique to build up distance and speed covered by the new runners. The beginners group are following a training programme to prepare for the clubs first race in the summer series – the Carraig Hotel Deadmans 5 which this year is being run in conjunction with the Clancy festival in June 2010. So if you’d like to get started in running but not sure how – come along to Kildalton next Tuesday night at 7pm.

The intermediate group cover a 5K distance at a steady pace and is ideal for those who participated in the Winter league and would like to keep up their fitness. The regular runners group follow an 8 minute mile pace over a distance of between 5 and 10K, this group focuses on those trying to up their pace for the upcoming road racing season.

All groups will partake in speed training, fun orienteering and Fit4life on Tour over the coming weeks.


Ned Kelly 4 Mile Race
Well done to all club members who made the trip to moyglass for the Ned Kelly 4 mile road race on St Patrick's Day. Anne Cronin took first prize in the Ladies O45 category in 31:42. First Carrick man home was Brendan Cronin in 24:37, continuing his good form and taking 2nd prize in the O45 category. Little separated the remaining Carrick men - all around finishing 25 minutes -Andrew Downey (24;56), Johnny Brunnock (25:02), Mark Connolly (25:11)Paddy Kerwick (25:53.).
Sergio Ciobanu of Clonliffe Harriers was the overall race winner and Aine Roche of Clonmel took the senior ladies prize.

Clonmel Interfirms 2010

Clonmel interfirms competition will be held over on Wednesday nights over the coming weeks, this is a team event and is run by Clonmel AC. It is a 4 mile team event where you predict your time for the race, the series commences on Wednesday 29 March. If you would like to participate please contact Catherine O'Donovan or James Fox.

Novice B – Sunday 4th April at 12 noon in Moyne – our ladies team are looking for their third medal of the season.

Cork City Marathon 2010 Relay Event 
Following on from the success of last years trip to the Cork Marathon the club will again enter relays teams. If you would like to participate on a team – any distance between 3 and 13 miles please contact Geraldine any Tuesday night at Fit4Life or on 0872483887. All team members receive a medal, a t-shirt and maybe an ice cream on the way home. The club will run a bus to this event, details to follow.
