County Intermediate Road Race – Carrick Ladies take another Bronze!
There was a huge turnout of Carrick runners for the County Intermediate Road Race which was held in Ballyneal on Sunday last and was hosted by the club. Thanks to Cornelius MacFadden and his team of stewards for their excellent work over the race route. The winner of the Ladies 4K race was Kealey Tideswell of Clonmel AC in 14:48. Five Carrick Ladies took part and were awarded the bronze medal –well done to Ann Power, Jackie Dunne, Bernie Sexton, Mairead Power & Susan Collins. This is the ladies second team medal of the season, all the training is paying off and we should see more awards in the coming months.
Tony Fogarty of Thurles Crokes took the gold in the mens 8K race in 27:05. A strong team of Carrick men ran, finishing fifth in the team event. Daragh Byrne, Patrick Roche, Martin Murphy, Brendan Cronin, Mark Connolly, Johnny Brunnock, Tom Egan, Emmet Russell, Andrew Downey, Andrew O'Meara, Barry Torpey and John O'Meara all represented the club on the day.
