Moran Cup One-mile Race

There was a terrific finish to this year's mile race for the Moran Cup at the Faugheen Field Day on Sunday last.Only six seconds separated the first four finishers, with Tommy Falconer (5:21) using his strong finishing 'kick' to just pip Darragh Byrne (5:22) who had made a bold bid from the front over the final 250m. Just behind came Jamie Kennedy (5:25) and Liam Landy (5:27) in third and fourth.Dermot Lanigan(5:47) and Barry Torpey (5:48) also had a tremendous battle. The ladies' Shield was retained by in-form Martina O' Dwyer with a time of 5:48.Well done to the Field Day committee for organising a most enjoyable event.
