Annevalley 5

The Annevalley 5-mile road race has traditionally been one of the more popular early-season races and this year's renewal saw a total of 379 runners compete. The men's race was won by Trevor Power from Waterford AC in a time of 26:35. Noel Murphy (27:19) and Frank Quinlan (27:32) made it a 1-2-3 for Waterford AC. Carrick AC's Aaron O' Donnell ran a superb race to take fourth place in a time of 28:40, continuing his good form as the season begins to get into full swing. Derek Walsh also put in a fine performance to finish in seventh place, clocking 29:23. Brendan Cronin won the O/50 category with a speedy 31:39 on the undulating course. The ladies' race was won in a time of 30:27 by Orna Murray. Carrick AC's ladies were led home by Mags Power (40:57), with Ger Houlihan (43:25) and Jackie Dunne (46:12) also running good races. Well done to all our runners.
