Fit-4-life on the move!

Carrick AC's annual Fit-4-life programme has been up and running for the past number of weeks and many who are new to running are using this to prepare for upcoming road races or fun runs. After this Tuesday's (April 10th) run in Kildalton College, Piltown, the meet 'n train groups will move to Ballyneale for the next two Tuesdays (April 17th and 24th). This will provide everybody with an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the course which will be used for the annual Champion Kiely 5km race on June 8th - an ideal target event as it will be the first of four races in this year's Carrick AC summer series.
Remember it is still not too late to join the Fit-4-life programme. All are welcome and the start time is 7pm every Tuesday.
Club Membership
A reminder to all that club membership (€30) for 2012 is now due and may be paid to Susan Collins or any of the committee members. Please note that in order to compete for team prizes at any of this year's road races, runners must have their membership paid.
Tommy Completes Munster 10-mile Series
Tommy Falconer has been one of Carrick AC's busiest athletes over the past few months and made the long journey to Kilnaboy, Co. Clare, last Sunday to compete in the annual Sonny Murphy 10-mile race. This was the last in a series of four 10-mile events throughout Munster and Tommy competed in all four, finishing seventh in the overall series. On Sunday Tommy once again broke the one-hour mark for the classic distance with a time of 59:56 and finishing in sixteenth place.
