Supervalu Winter League
Tonight (Feb. 7th) will see the penultimate run in this year's Winter League, kindly sponsored once again by Supervalu, Carrick-on-Suir. At the moment the lead is held by former winner of this event, Cian Power, on a total of 174 points. However, Leonard O' Farrell has been narrowing the gap between himself and Cian in recent weeks and is now only 15 points adrift with a total of 189. In third place is Michael Freaney on 198 points and the title would appear to rest between these three runners as there is currently a further gap of 29 points to our fourth placed runner, Matt Greene. With prizes for the top ten finishers, there promises to be some exciting tussles both tonight and on next week's final run which will be a mass start with all runners starting at 7pm. Tipperary Novice Road Championships
The County Tipperary Novice Road Championships for men and ladies will take place in Clonmel on Sunday, 26th February. These races are open to all runners who have not won this championship or placed in the topthree at county senior level in the past. The men's race is over 6km and the ladies' event is over 3km so these races afford an idealopportunity for our Winter League runners to represent Carrick AC at a championship event.
