Butlerstown 10k
 
The Butlerstown 10k road race on Friday last saw a field of 252 runners take on the three-lap challenge in ideal running conditions.The men's event was won by Pat Hogan (Ferrybank) while the in-form Angela McCann (Clonmel) took the honours in the ladies' race.There was a strong Carrick Roadrunners presence and our first athlete to finish was David Waters in sixth place (36:25).Tommy Falconer (36:27) and Patrick Roche (37:27) were close behind in 10th and 17th positions respectively.Our other finishers in the men's race were David Foley (40:00), Michael O' Connell (41:02), Seamus Ward (41:21), RaymondBurke (42:37), Gordon Collins (44:14), Paul O' Donnell (48:21) and Sean O' Donovan (50:48).
In the Ladies' race Claire Annan (42:07) put in another very good performance to be the fifth woman over the line.Our next finisher was Teresa Cunningham (46:58). Geraldine Houlihan (48:17), Ann Cronin (49:18), Aisling Skerritt (51:01) and Sandra O' Neill (55:48) also enjoyed good runs.Well done to all our runners.
 
Prestige Lighting Fit-for-Life  
 
The Prestige Lighting-sponsored Fit-for-Life programme continues every Tuesday evening from Kildalton College,Piltown at 7pm.Runners have been taking advantage of the good weather to prepare for the upcoming series of races organised by our own club or simply to get fit.All are welcome to meet 'n train any Tuesday.
