Carrick Ladies Take Team Silver   
 
The Tipperary Intermediate Road Races were held in Dundrum on Sunday with our ladies' team taking second place.The silver medal winners were Nanette O' Connell, Teresa Cunningham and Catherine O' Donovan.Well done to all three runners who have been in very good form of late. 
 
Prestige Lighting Fit-for-Life   
 
There was a good turnout for the first week of the Prestige Lighting Fit-for-Life programme on Tuesday evening last at Kildalton College, Piltown.One group of runners took in a route from the college to the tower and through the village to finish at the college.Our beginners group was led out by Susan Collins and ran a shorter route in the college grounds.
All levels of runners/joggers are catered for and the emphasis is always on enjoyment,making the programme an ideal introduction to running for anyone who wishes to achieve a basic level of fitness.
The programme will continue every Tuesday at 7pm and all are welcome.
 
Defibrillator
 
Along with some other local organisations,Carrick Roadrunners were presented with a defibrillator courtesy of Boston Scientific, Clonmel on Friday last.On hand to accept this most vital piece of equipment were club chairman,James Fox,club treasurer,Susan Collins and secretary,Catherine O' Donovan.All in the club are very grateful to Paddy Kerwick and the Boston Scientific team for their generosity.
 
Mini-Marathon Charity Run
 
The Flora Women's Mini-Marathon in Dublin has become one of the biggest running events in Europe over the past few years.This year's 10-kilometre run takes place on Bank Holiday Monday,June 6th.If you are interested in running/jogging or walking in aid of Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin please contact Brenda (086-3199051) for further information,sponsorship cards and T-shirts.Bus transport to the race will be provided.
