The One Mile Challenge
The One Mile Challenge got under way last Tuesday evening 14th Sept at the Sean Kelly Sports Centre Track .Runners from the complete beginners to the advanced lined up to run their best time over one mile , leading the pack was Richard Carroll in 5mins 21sec followed closely by Patrick Roche in 5mins 30 sec. The first lady was Martina O' Dwyer in 5mins 35 sec, there were also a number of people who took up running at Fit 4 Life last March and have progressed steadily since then. Again we would like to encourage anyone who wants to keep fit or is thinking of taking up the sport to come along to the Sean Kelly Track on Tuesday evenings at 6.30pm all levels are welcome.
Kilkenny Half Marathon 19thSeptember 2010
Four Carrick club runners took part in this years Kilkenny half marathon ,first home was James Fox who ran a great race finishing 4th in (83.30) James is currently training for the Dublin city marathon in October along with Johnny Brunnock who finished in 7th place in (1hr 25 mins), Seamus Ward 40th (1hr 32mins), Tom Eagan 44th (1hr.36mins).
Dublin half marathon 18th September 2010
Well done to Daragh Byrne who competed in the Dublin Half Marathon and finished in a time of (80.49). Daragh is also training for the Dublin city marathon.
