Huge Turnout for Rathgormack '5'         
The Auto Power Rathgormack 5 mile road race attracted a field of 152 runners and over 60 walkers to the village on Friday evening last.The race was the first of four in this year's Outfield Sports/Asics Three Counties Challenge. In perfect running conditions over this challenging course, Sergiu Ciobanu of Clonliffe Harriers took the men's race with a time of 26:01.Dwane Farrell (Tinryland) came second in 26:24, while third place went to Shane Mullaney (Thurles Crokes).
The ladies' race was won by Pauline Lambe (Tullamore Harriers) in an impressive 29:39 with Madeline Loughnane(Thurles Crokes) second and Corinna Walsh (West Waterford) in third. There was a big turnout Carrick Roadrunners for the race and Daragh Byrne had a great run to be first club person home in 18th position. Anthony Grace and Tommy Falconer were our next finishers while John O' Sullivan made a fine return to race action.Martina O' Dwyer was our first lady finisher in 33:54 ahead of Jackie Power in 35:38 and Mags Power wasfirst lady O-50 clocking an excellent 38:43.  Well done to all our runners.

Corl Marathon Teams
Well done to our six relay teams who completed the Cork City Marathon on Bank Holiday Monday. All our runners thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the big-race atmosphere was by all accounts fantastic.Our teams were:

Touraneena 5k
Bank Holiday Monday also saw the running of this year's Touraneena 5k road race, the fourth race of the Ger Wyley Sports/Nike Summer Series. Victory went to Sandis Bralitis of West Waterford AC in 15:21.

Little South Run
The hugely popular Little South Run over 4 miles organised by St. Senan's AC took place in Kilmacow last Sunday. The men's race was won by Sergiu Ciobanu while Lucy Darcy took the ladies' event. Once again our runners were out in force and clocked the following times :
