Glen Of Aherlow Trail Race
Carrick AC runner, Jason King, enjoyed a great victory in the recent Glen of Aherlow Trail Race over a distance of 39.3 miles (the equivalent of one and a half marathons!). Jason covered the distance in a time of 5 hours 33 minutes, more than four minutes clear of second-placed Vasily Neumerzhitskiy from Clonmel AC. Well done to Jason from all in the club.
2014 SuperValu Winter League This Tuesday
The very popular SuperValu Winter League organised by Carrick Roadrunners and kindly sponsored by SuperValu, Carrick-on-Suir, will get underway this Tuesday evening, September 30th at 7pm in Kildalton College, Piltown. For this first of eleven runs over the 5km course on the college grounds there will be a mass start of all runners. For the remaining ten weeks runners will be grouped according to their finishing times and groups will commence at two-minute intervals every Tuesday. The first group will start running at 7 pm sharp each week.
As in previous years there will be a one-off registration fee of €5 for all participants and thereafter the entry fee will be just €3 per week for club members and €5 per week for non-members. Club membership forms will be available each week at registration from 6:30pm in the College.It is very important that runners wear reflective bibs/vests when participating in the League.
