Carrick Road Runners Athletic Club, Co. Tipperary, Ireland

AutoPower Rathgormack 5 this Friday

The fourth and penultimate race in this year's Outfieldsports.ie Three Counties Challenge will be the AutoPower 5-mile race in the picturesque Co. Waterford village of Rathgormack on this Friday, July 11th. The five-race series has already attracted large entries in Faugheen, Portlaw and Carrick and there is sure to be a large and competitive field on Friday evening. While the race route does include two challenging hills, there are also two very fast downhill stretches and race times are expected to be fast. This race will be the ideal preparation for the final race of the series, the Piltown 10k. Last year's race was won by  Sergiu Ciobanu (Clonliffe Harriers) in 24:57 while Angela McCann (Clonmel AC) took the ladies' race in 31:17. Race start will be at 7:30pm and registration at the Hiking Centre in the village will commence from 6pm. Race entry is €10 and runners can enter online at http://www.runireland.com/ . There will be prizes in all the usual categories as well as team prizes for both ladies and men. Prize-giving and refreshments will be in the Hiking Centre. For further details contact Johnny (086-8483210) or Susan (087-2931430).
