County Masters' Success for Carrick AC

It was a hugely successful day for Carrick AC's team of seven runners at the Tipperary Masters' Road Championships in Clonmel on Sunday last. Brian Murphy continued his excellent form with an emphatic victory in the men's race to add to his collection of county titles. Brian covered the six kilometre course in 19:34 with Danny Smith from Ballynonty AC in second place. Patrick Roche ran a great race to take third place and a well-deserved bronze medal. Our next finisher was Pat O' Sullivan in eighth place, taking the gold medal for the O/45 category. Michael O' Sullivan in twentieth place completed the team score for Carrick AC and the squad's combined total of 32 points comfortably took the county team gold medals. John O' Sullivan and Seamus Ward ran very solid races in 32nd and 37th places respectively. Well done to our club's magnificent seven!

Deise College Dungarvan 10k

Carrick AC's Brian Murphy had another notable success on the road when taking first place in the Deise College Dungarvan 10k. Brian's winning time of 32:35 was a full minute clear of second placed Raivis Zakis (West Waterford AC) with Danny Smith (Ballynonty AC) in third place. Club Treasurer, Tom Egan, ran very well to finish in 43:31. In the ladies' race, Emer O' Brien clocked a time of 47:08 and Geraldine Houlihan came home in 55:15.
