John Treacy 10-mile Race
 
There was a huge field of 1,600 runners for the annual John Treacy 10-mile road race in Dungarvan on Sunday last. Victory in the men's race went to Tallaght AC runner, Thomas Fitzpatrick. The ladies' race was won by Siobhan O' Doherty from Borrisokane AC. Andrew Downey was the first Carrick AC member to finish, coming home in a time of 61:36. Tommy Falconer (63:34) and Michael Murphy (64:51) were our next finishers in the men's event. Josephine O'Dwyer (82:59) and Geraldine Houlihan (88:31) were the Carrick AC representatives in the ladies' race and will be well pleased with their performances. Well done to all our runners.
 
Tipperary Novice Road Championships
 
The County Tipperary Novice Road Championships will be held in Moyne next Sunday, 9th February with a 12 noon start. The ladies' race over 3 km is first up with three athletes to score on each club team. The men's race over 6km will follow with four to score on a team. Club Membership
 
Club membership fees for the  2014 calendar year are now due and the fee of €30 can be paid to club Treasurer, Tom Egan, or any other committee member.
 
Tuesday Meet 'n Train
 
The meet 'n train sessions at Kildalton College, Piltown are proving very popular and will continue with interval training on this Tuesday, 4th February at 7 pm. On the following Tuesday there will be a coaching session with running coach, James O'Sullivan. Runners of all abilities are welcome to come along any Tuesday evening and reap the benefits of training with a group.
