Deadman's 5 this Friday

The Carraig Hotel 'Deadman's 5' mile road race will be held in Carrick-on-Suir this Friday evening, June 7th, with a 7:30pm start time. The race will be the third in this year's OutfieldSports.ie Three Counties Challenge, a series of five races organised by Carrick AC with venues in the neighbouring counties of Tipperary, Waterford and Kilkenny. Entry for the race costs €10 and registration will be at the Carrick Swan GAA Hall, Parkside, from 6 pm where changing facilities will be available. Entries will close at 7:10pm as the race must start at 7:30 pm sharp due to the route passing through the railway crossing on Cregg Road. On no account can the race start be delayed to accommodate late entrants so make sure you get to the Swan Hall in good time for registration. Online registration is also available at http://www.runireland.com/Prizes for all the usual categories will be presented at the Swan Hall along with the post-race refreshments. The race will start at the historic Ormonde Castle (just a short jog from registration) and takes in a short lap of the town through the Main Street and Sean Kelly Square before heading out into the country and onto the Deadman's Boreen. The route then returns to the town with a fast, flat finish at the Town Park. For further details contact Alan (051-641826) or Susan (087-2931430).
