Deadman's 5 Coming Soon!

The Carraig Hotel 'Deadman's 5' mile road race on Friday, June 7th, will be the third race in this year's OutfieldSports.ie Three Counties Challenge. The first two races in Faugheen and Portlaw saw record entries and this trend looks sure to continue at the 'Deadman's' which has become established as one of the most popular events on the local road-race circuit. Entry for the race is €10 and registration will be at the Carrick Swan GAA Hall, Parkside from 6 pm where changing facilities will be available. Entries will close at 7:10 pm as the race must start at 7:30 pm sharp due to the route passing through the railway crossing on the Cregg Road. On no account can the race start be delayed to accommodate late comers so make sure you get to the Swan Hall in good time for registration. Online entry is also available athttp://www.runireland.com/ . There will be prizes in all of the usual categories which will this year be presented at the Carrick Swan Hall along with the post-race refreshments. The race will start (7:30pm sharp!) at the historic Ormonde Castle, Carrick-on-Suir, taking in a short lap of the town through the Main Street before heading out into the country and onto the 'Deadman's Boreen' before returning to finish beside the Town Park. For further details contact Alan (051-641826) or Susan (087-2931430).
