Carrick Road Runners Athletic Club, Co. Tipperary, Ireland
My Dress One-Mile Challenge

The club's annual one-mile challenge, once again kindly sponsored by 'My Dress',Carrick-on-Suir, got underway on Tuesday evening last. There was a very good turnout for the first of five one-mile runs and the runners will no doubt be out to improve on their time this Tuesday evening. The event provides runners and joggers of all abilities with the opportunity to complete the mile run  on five consecutive weeks. Each week's run is timed and the challenge for all runners is to improve their performance over the distance with a view to participating in the upcoming Winter League over 5km. Over the past few years many newcomers to running have enjoyed the one-mile series on their way to competing in their very first road races. The run takes place at the Sean Kelly Sports Centre each Tuesday with a 6:45pm start and all are welcome.

SuperValu Winter League

The very popular Winter League will once again be held in Kildalton College, Piltown starting on Tuesday, October 2nd.The league is once again sponsored by SuperValu, Carrick-on-Suir, and the club is grateful for the continued generous sponsorship of this very successful local business. The venue and distance for this year's league will remain as in previous years but with an earlier starting date of October 2nd (registration and information evening) and  concluding on December 11th. The start time every Tuesday will be 7pm. The league gives runners a chance to enjoy running with those of a similar ability on a very safe, well-lit course as a handicap system comes into operation after the first couple of runs. Further details over the coming weeks.
