'My Dress' Mile Challenge Results
The 'My Dress' One-Mile Challenge will conclude at the Sean Kelly Sports Centre on this Tuesday evening, October 12th.Tommy Falconer, Patrick Roche and Martina O' Dwyer have been leading the way home in recent weeks while Shirley English, Siobhan Jacob and Daphne Dowley are among those who have been showing significant improvements on their times.
The club would like to thank Mags Power of 'My Dress' for once again generously sponsoring the Challenge.Prize-giving will take place at Kildalton College, Piltown on the Tuesday, October 25th
Cross-Country
Well done to Patrick Roche who finished in 17th place in the Open Cross-Country event in Dungarvan on Sunday last.This race attracted a top-class field of athletes and Patrick's was an excellent run as he continues his very good form.No doubt Patrick will be among our club's representatives at the County Tipperary Intermediate Cross-Country Championships next Sunday in Clonmel.
SuperValu Winter League Returns !
The club is very pleased to announce that the very popular Winter League, kindly sponsored by SuperValu, Carrick-on-Suir, will commence on Tuesday, October 25th at Kildalton College, Piltown.This league is run over a very safe and well-lit five kilometres route within the college grounds.It affords seasoned runners, novices or beginners the ideal opportunity to meet and train at a time of year when it can be difficult to consistently train on the road due to the shortened hours of daylight.Registration (€5) will take place at the college from 6:30pm on October 25th and runners may like to have a trial run over the course on that evening.On the following Tuesday there will be a 'mass start' where all runners will start together at 7pm.Thereafter, a handicap system will be put in place where groups of runners will start the course at two-minute intervals.The league will continue each Tuesday until December 13th when a break will be taken for Christmas.The league will re-commence on January 3rd and the final run will take place on Tuesday, 14th February.
