'My Dress' One Mile Challenge is Back!
If you have been thinking of taking up jogging or running for the first time or if you are a 'lapsed runner' who wishes to make a come back, then the 'My Dress' - sponsored One Mile Challenge is the ideal starting point for you. Over the past few years, many have found this five week challenge to be the perfect preparation for our Winter League which begins in October. You can walk, jog or run the one mile distance on a grass surface and each week your time will be recorded. This is not a competitive event and the emphasis, as always, is on enjoyment.
The challenge begins on Tuesday, September 6th at 6.30p.m. at the Sean Kelly Sports Centre, Carrick-on-Suir and will conclude on Tuesday October the 4th.
Island Run - 5km
The Island Run 5km race recently attracted a field of over 300 to Waterford Castle. Victory went to Shane Quinn in a time of 16:45. Carrick AC's Tommy Falconer put in a fine run to finish in 4th place, clocking 17:42.
