Waterford Half Marathon

The rescheduled Waterford Half Marathon got underway in less than ideal conditions on Saturday last. Runner's had to battle wind and rain during the race, but despite that 690 runners made it to the finishing line. The winner was Mareks Floroseks of West Waterford in (1.12.28) and Angela McAnn of Clonmel AC was the first lady home in (1.22.24).
First home for Carrick in 22nd place was Tommy Falconer in (1.24.11), followed by John Nolan in 24th. (1.25.13), 30th. Patrick Roche (1.26.05), 37th. Cornelius McFadden (1.26.44), 101. Woodies DIY Novice all Ireland Cross Country Championship's Tullamore

On Sunday last our County Champion Martina O'Dwyer competed in the all Ireland cross country Championships. Conditions on the day were generally good overall despite heavy rain in previous days. The 3k race got underway with 122 athletes taking part with Martina finishing in 6th place overall.
Well done to Ned Crowe who is a member of Carrick AC competed in the Nice 10k Prom Classic as part of a Lions Club team promoting awareness for organ donation.
Carrick AC will hold their annual AGM in the Strand Bar on Thursday January 27th at 8pm, the club would like to encourage as many members as possible to attend the meeting.
