Super-valu Winter League

Tuesday November 2nd was the first night for registration for our annual winter league, which saw almost ninety runner's sign up at Kildalton college, Piltown. After a brief talk and a look at some winter clothing and footwear from Outfield Sports, runner's made their way to the starting line to run the 5k and get themselves familiar with the course and their competitors. The league is based on a points system and is run over eleven weeks ,so if you didn't get a chance to sign in last week you can do so any week. Registration is from 6.30pm and costs €3per week, league will start at 7pm sharp and a reflective bib is a must for safety. The club would be grateful if all runners could help with stewarding this year on one night of the winter league and all runners that do so will receive a bonus point.

Last Tuesday saw the second night of the winter league take place and it is great to see old and new faces signing up each week. There was a mass start and each person was due to be timed on the night, so that each week every runner will have their own starting time each week. However due to a technical glitch the finishing times could not be retrieved.

Nontheless, many runners made a welcome return to the league with Pat O;Sullivan proving that he is still on top form with a very strong run to begin the league. Also keeping up all the hard work from the one mile challenge were Ned Crowe, Amanda O'Dwyer, and Sean O'Donovan. It is always good to see new faces every week and anyone who wishes to join the league can do so any week. Registration from 6.30pm start at 7pm sharp and remember to bring a reflective bib.

Munster Regional Cross Country
Sunday November 7th 2010

The Munster regional cross country took place in Chareville Co.Cork on Sunday last, where athlete's from Tipperary were taking part. The only Carrick AC runner among them was twice county champion Martina O'Dwyer who narrowly missed out on the gold medal. The ladies race was over 4k in which Martina was leading for most of, but she was overtaken in the final stages to finish in 2nd place to take a well deserved sliver medal.

Annual Brickey 5 Mile 2010
