Carrick Road Runners Athletic Club, Co. Tipperary, Ireland
John Treacy Dungarvan '10'

There was a great turnout on Sunday last for the annual John Treacy Dungarvan 10-mile road race. Carrick AC had seven representatives in the men's race and it was Derek Walsh who led home our runners with a fantastic run to finish in 16th place overall. Derek's time of 56:44 was a personal best for the classic distance and augurs well for his participation in the Manchester Marathon later this Spring. Our club's second finisher was Patrick Roche who enjoyed another excellent run to finish in 61:22. Not far behind Patrick came Michael O' Sullivan, who finished in 62:39. Aaron O' Donnell came home in 66:52 with Raymond Burke hot on his heels in 67:07. James Fox (70:44) and Tommy Falconer (71:36) also enjoyed good runs in the Carrick AC colours. Geraldine Houlihan was our only runner in the ladies' race and crossed the line in 93:40. Well done to all our runners.

The annual SuperValu Winter League will finish on this Tuesday, 7th February with the final 4km run in Lower Ballylynch, Carrick-on-Suir. This year's league has been a great success and the predict-your-time format has been met with approval by all the runners. The club would like to thank SuperValu, Carrick-on-Suir for the continued generous sponsorship of this league and also the many runners who have supported the event over the past six weeks. Prizes will be presented to the winning teams after this week's run.
