WINTER LEAGUE
The Super Valu Winter league continues every Tuesday at 7pm in Kildalton
College in Piltown . The league is a points based system where the most
improved runner over the winter is the winner. Competition is close at
the top of the league, current table toppers are Tommy Faulconer, Vinny
Murray, Mick O'Dwyer, Melanie Ward and Matt Greene.
Format for the upcoming weeks is:
Tues 2nd February: Predict your time
Tues 9th February: Handicap Start as normal
Tues 16th February: Mass Start
Winter League Prize Giving: Fri 19th February, time and location to be
confirmed.
Quantum Life Dungarvan 10 miles
It was a bright frosty lunchtime start for almost one thousand runners
who made the trip to Dungarvan for the 10 mile road race. Sandis
Bralitis of West Waterford was the overall winner in a time 50:57. Anna
Breen was the first lady home with 58:39 on the clock. Brian Murphy from
Carrick on Suir AC took 5th place overall in an excellent time of 54:36.
There was a great turnout from Carrick runners for the event. Tommy
Faulconer had a great run (1:00:57), taking seven minutes off his time
from the same race last year. Fourteen in total from Carrick took part,
well done to all.
