Carrick Road Runners Athletic Club Notes 15th September 2008
Last Tuesday saw Carrick-on-Suir AC back at the Sean Kelly Sports Centre track for the 1 Mile Challenge Series which is kindly sponsored by ‘My Dress'. Runners of all levels are encouraged to take part in this series but the club are particularly focusing on beginners and those with little or no running experience. This series has traditionally been a great training ground for Super Valu Winter League which will begin in October.
Last Tuesday night saw 29 runners start and new runners are again welcome for the rest of the series even if you can only make it to one or two nights. The 1 mile session kicks off at 7 p.m. but we ask all runners to get there by 6:45 p.m. to allow time for registration. The series continues for the remaining Tuesday evenings in September at the grass track to the rear of the Sean Kelly Sports Centre.
Faugheen Field Day And The Moran Cup 1 Mile Race
Following on from our 1 mile challenge is the Moran Cup event which is part of the Faugheen Field Day on Sunday next 21st September. This race is open to all comers and every level of fitness. There will be prizes for both ladies and gents. See you all in Faugheen!
