Carrick Road Runners Athletic Club, Co. Tipperary, Ireland
Autumn/Winter Fit4Life Program 2015

Carrick AC is proud to announce its new-look running programme for this Autumn and Winter. This structured programme offers something for all - from the complete beginner who just wants to get started while availing of the best advice to the more seasoned athletes who wish to improve their running technique and times.

The first phase of the program (over 3 weeks) will commence on Tuesday evening, September 1st, at 7pm on the Sean Kelly Sports Centre running track. Expert running coach James Sullivan will help new runners to get started over one mile and advise them on their running style. More experienced runners will complete interval training sessions to sharpen up their speed.

Phase 2 ( four weeks) will begin on Tuesday, 22nd September at Lower Ballylynch in Carrick-on-Suir. Runners will progress from one mile to a 3km distance on a short, flat course which is also ideal for speed training for the more advanced runners. These runs will be timed so that runners can gauge their improvement on time.

The third phase of our program will see the return of the always popular SuperValu Winter League on the grounds of Kildalton College, Piltown. This year's eight-week league will get underway on Tuesday, October 20th at 7pm. The league is held over the very safe, well-lit 5km route on the college avenue which has been used in previous years.

All runs over the 15 weeks are free to club members and just €2 for non-members. Part of the proceeds will go to our nominated local charity 'A Car For Cillian'. So come along to the Sean Kelly Centre track on September 1st if you would like to participate in a well-organised, structured program to improve your fitness level.
