Carrick Road Runners Athletic Club, Co. Tipperary, Ireland

SuperValu Winter League

This Tuesday, December 2nd, will see the penultimate 5km run in this year's SuperValu Winter League. This will also be our charity night with all proceeds going to the local branch of the Irish Pilgrimage Trust. Please note that all runners will start at 7pm in a 'mass start'. Times and points earned will count for overall league positions. Week 9 last Tuesday saw some very good performances. Fastest man on the night was Andrew Downey with a time of 17:40. Valerie O' Callaghan was the fastest lady, clocking 21:30. The league will conclude on Tuesday, December 9th. Prizes will be given to the top ten points scorers with each runners' best eight scores over the 11-week league to count. Prizes will be presented in Piltown National School immediately after the final run.

Brian Murphy Represents Ireland

Well done from all in Carrick AC to club member Brian Murphy on his fine performance as a member of the Irish team at the British and Irish Masters Cross-Country Championships in Nottingham on November 23rd. Brian completed the 8km course in a time of 26:29 thereby helping the Irish team to the silver medal position, just a single point behind England. Brian placed fourteenth overall in the O/35 category.

Flag Day

Thanks to all who helped out with the club's annual Flag Day in Carrick on Saturday last, especially those who manned the various collection points in the town. Thanks also to all who contributed so generously.
