Brian Murphy Wins All-Ireland Bronze

Carrick AC's Brian Murphy travelled to Athlone on Sunday for the National Masters' Indoors Championships. Competing in the O/35 3,000m race, Brian took third place and a bronze medal at national level. Congratulations to Brian from all in the club on this wonderful achievement. Brian was joined by his clubmate, Patrick Roche, at the recent Masters' Indoor Championships at both county and provincial level. In the Tipperary County Championships, Carrick AC's two runners secured double gold and silver in the O/35 3,000m and 1,500m as Brian won both races and Patrick finished runner-up in both. At the Munster Masters' Indoor Championships, Brian again took home the two gold medals for the O/35 3,000m and 1,500m. Patrick finished fifth and seventh in the same events.

The Munster Senior Cross-Country Championships in Cashel once again saw Brian and Patrick in action and both won silver medals with the Tipperary team in the inter-county race. Brian finished in seventh place on the day and was Tipperary's second scorer while Patrick finished in twentieth position and was the fifth scorer for the county. Well done to both Patrick and Brian on their great start to 2014.
