SuperValu Winter League
The eighth week of this year's SuperValu Winter League saw a total of sixty-four runners complete the 5km course in Kildalton College last Tuesday. First to cross the line was Robbie Culleton in a time of 20:23, closely followed by Colin Tobin who covered the distance in 18:30. The fastest time on the night was Pat Sullivan's 16:26 with Tommy Falconer hot on Pat's heels in a time of 16:49. Martina O' Dwyer and Claire Annan were the fastest of the ladies with times of 17:10 and 17:35 respectively. After eight outings the top ten points scorers in the league are:

This Tuesday, December 3rd, is our charity run night and there will be a mass start at 7pm for all runners. All runners are asked to be at the start line before 7pm. Times will be taken and league points will be awarded as usual so it is important that you don't miss the start! Don't forget that the prize-giving for this year's league will take place on Saturday, December 14th, in the Comeragh Bar, Carrick-on-Suir from 8:30pm. All are welcome.
Waterford Half-Marathon
A very large field of runners lined up for this year's renewal of the Waterford Half-Marathon on Sunday. The men's race was won by Brian McMahon from Clonliffe Harriers in 1:06:37 while Elish Kelly from Raheny Shamrocks won the ladies', race in 1:18:02. The first Carrick AC athlete to finish was Tommy Falconer in 1:20:14. Derek Walsh clocked a very good time of 1:22:37, just ahead of Andrew Downey (1:23:02). Michael O' Sullivan was our next finisher in 1:26:34, followed by Tom Egan in 1:31:22, Emer O'Brien 1:47:17, Alan Treacy in 1:47:27, and Robert Briscoe in 1:47:48. Well done to all our runners.
