Patrick Roche Wins 'Novice B' Title

The cross-country season is in full swing at the moment and the County Tipperary Novice 'B' championships were held in Moyne last Sunday.Carrick AC athlete,  Patrick Roche, put in a hugely impressive performance to take the men's race by a margin of twenty seconds. Andrew Smyth (Coolquill AC) took the silver medal ahead of his clubmate, Dermot Logue. This victory is just reward for the dedication to training and racing which Patrick has shown since joining Carrick AC.Well done from all in the club.

SuperValu Winter League

The league has now been running for seven weeks and the final three runs promise to be very exciting as the destination of the prizes and title of Winter League Champion will be decided. The fastest time recorded on Tuesday last was James Ryan's 17:04 while Martina O' Dwyer continued her good form with a time of 17:52. The top ten points scorers for week 7 were:  1. Michelle Keogh  2. Aine Knox  3. Sean Dunne  4. Laura Tobin  5. Sinead Blackmore  6. James Ryan  7. PJ Guinan  8. Amy Harris  9. Gerry O' Meara  10. Bernadette Harte

In terms of the overall points for all seven weeks the ladies are certainly to the fore at the moment. Josephine O' Dwyer is currently leading with a total of 201 points ahead of Kathleen O' Hanlon (238) and Eileen Skelly (245). But with three weeks still to go and each runner's top eight scores to count there will surely be many changes before our 2012 winner is known. The prizes for this year's league will be presented at the club's Christmas night out in the Carraig Hotel on Saturday, December 15th.

Flag Day

Our club's annual Flag Day was held in Carrick on Saturday last. The day was once again a very successful fund-raising event thanks to the dedication of those club members who braved the extremely cold conditions. The club would like to thank all who assisted at the various collection points and, of course, all who contributed so generously.
