Carrick Road Runners Athletic Club, Co. Tipperary, Ireland

Carraig Hotel Deadman's 5 This Friday !
This Friday evening will see the fifth running of the Carraig Hotel “Deadman’s 5” Roadrace which, as in past years, is organised by Carrick on Suir A.C. Roadrunners.  The race will begin at 7:30 p.m. sharp outside the historic Ormond Castle and will take its by now usual route of Main Street, O’Mahony Avenue, Cregg Road, Deadmans Boreen , Ballyrichard Road , with the Finish Line at Ash Park at the back of the Town Park. All in all, this is a good standard 5 mile course suitable for all levels.
Registration will take place at the Swan Club Hall behind the Garda Barracks from 6:00 p.m. and there will be Changing and Shower Facilities at the Swan Clubhouse on the Fair Green. As with all races in the four race series, runners can register online before the race and save time at www.runireland.com . A new initiative this year is to register for the 4 races for €35. (Normally €10 per race)
This will be Race 1 in the Outfield Sports/ Asics 3 Counties Challenge, and to celebrate this there will be a free Asics Goodie bag for all competitors. And anyone completing the 4 Races will receive a €25 Asics Gift Voucher for Outfield Sports after the last race in the series at Rathgormack.
Last year’s race was won by Carrick’s  Brian Murphy and ,after missing the early part of the season through injury, Brian is back to his best form in the last few weeks. Previous winners of this race include Sergiu Ciobanu of Clonliffe Harriers (whose blistering winning time of 24:27 from 2009 is still the Course record) and Sandis Bralitis and Ravis Zakis of West Waterford AC. In the Ladies Race, Martina O’Dwyer of Carrick will be defending her title, but expect Angela McCann of Clonmel A C and  Corinna Walsh of West Waterford AC to  have a say in the shake up.
The club would like to thank the Carraig Hotel for their generous sponsorship again this year and also to Garda and Carrick Red Cross for their assistance in organising the race. For up to date information please visit www.carrickroadrunners.ie
The club asks any members who are not participating in this year's race to come along and lend a hand with stewarding as there is a large number of junctions that must be well stewarded.
