Munster Masters

Carrick Roadrunners are delighted to act as host club for this year's Munster Masters Road Race Championships on Sunday, March 27th. The races (four miles for men and two miles for ladies) will be run over the very flat, fast route which has been used for the annual Champion Kiely 5k road race. Cornelius MacFadden and his team are already hard at work on preparations for this event and it is hoped that the club will have a strong entry on the day.

Get Fit For Life!!

Would you like to get fit ? Have you been finding excuses not to start ? Would you like to meet and train with people who have the same goals as yourself ? Would you like to jog or run your first 5k ? Well, the Fit4Life Meet 'N Train programme is back and gives you the ideal opportunity to start on the road to fitness. This programme will provide beginners with training tips and advice from our Fit4Life leaders and experienced club runners with the aim of participating in the summer series of events organised by Carrick AC. Over the fifteen-week programme, beginners will mix walking and jogging and gradually build up their running time and mileage. Participants will also receive a suggested programme which can be followed for each week. Most importantly, the emphasis will be on enjoyment and the benefit of training with people of similar ability.

Regular runners who wish to increase their mileage or do some speed training will also meet and train together. With the brighter evenings, there will be the option of taking many different running routes which are suited to all levels. This year's programme has been very kindly sponsored by Prestige Lighting and will commence on Tuesday, March 29th at Kildalton College, Piltown at 7pm. So come along and make a start - you won't regret it!
