Cork Athletics Graded Track & Field Leagues 2018 Round 3(2040hrs Monday25June 2018)
TheCork Athletics Graded Track & Field Leagues 2018 Round 3 took place last Monday night 25thJune, at Cork Institute of Technology,the Graded League had race distances of 100, 1500, 400 metre and field competition also. Patrick Roche ran in the 1500 metre event and finished with new PB time of4:34:08 for outdoor track. This was an improvement from 4.35.85 at the Munster Master Track and Field Championships, at Castleisland Co Kerry, were Patrick won the o/40 race just over two weeks ago.
Inch Festival – Mount Uniacke 5K Road Race, Killeagh, Co. Cork (2000hrs Friday 29 June 2018)
Inch Festival – Mount Uniacke 5K Road Race 2018 got under way on a very warm sunny evening at Killeagh, Co Cork last Friday at 8 o clock, 29th June with over 90 runners taking part. The Race winners were Kevin O’Leary, East Cork AC time 16.39 and Aoife Cooke, Youghal AC time 18.09. Patrick ran well to finish in and win 3rd place prize in a time of 17.50
Waterford Viking Marathon½ and ¼(7.2mile) (0900hrs Saturday 30 June 2018)
The Waterford Viking Marathon,half and Quarter which was 7.2 mile got underway in very warm weather conditions at Waterford city last Saturday morning 30 June, at 9 O Clock The half marathon had over one thousand runners, the winners were Freddy Stukk, Raheny Shamrock AC, time 1.11.30 and Ruth Fitzgerald, Waterford AC, time 1.23.49. Our first runner to finish, in 8th place was Derek Walsh winning the first o/40 prize, time 1.18.16 followed by Eugene O’Keeffe in 107 place, with a new PB time of 1.36.50, Also putting fine running was Brian Graham in 133 place,time 1.38, and Sinead Blackmore in 859 place time 2.27. Over eight hundred took part in the Quarter Marathon,the winners were Andrew Connick, Ferrybank AC, time 37.57 and Louise Morgan, Ferrybank AC, time 48.37. We had great runs by John Carroll in 32th place, time 51.42, Derek O’Dwyer, time 1.13and Mary Fitzpatrick who finish in 484 pace, time 1.19 Well done to all our athletes for taking on very tough weather conditions and representing our club.
