Tipperary County, Junior,Senior & Master Track and Field Championships, Templemore (Sunday 29 April 2018)

Carrick on Suir Athletics Club had a very successful day at the Tipperary County Junior, Senior & Master Track and Field championships 2018,last Sunday 29 April at Templemore,winning a total of 11 Golds and 1 Silver with 5 Athletes, our most successful athlete was 16 year old Rose Ann FitzGerald who brought home 4 Junior County golds medals in 100m, 200m, long jump and high jump, Richard Phelan won 3 golds in themasters o/35 in 100m, 200m and long jump, 17 year old Jack Pender won 2 gold in the Senior 100m and 400m sprints. Andrew Downey in the master o/40 won gold in the 5000m race and silver in 800m and John Carrollin the master o/50 won gold in the 800m race

 

Brendan Kinane 5K Road Race, Dundrum AC (Wednesday 02 May 2018)

The Brenden Kinane 5K Road Race 2018 took place at Dundrum, Co, Tipperary, last Wednesday on the 2ndApril,The race with a field of five hundred runners took place on a bright sunny eveningon what is understood to be one of flattest 5k around. The winners were Sean Doyle, An-Bru AC he won the men race in a time of 15.13 and Grainne O’Callaghan North Cork AC, won the women’s race,her time was 18.42. 1st to cross the line for our club was Patrick Roche in 10th time 17.14 follow Andrew Downey in 98th21.33 (Andrew had run the race with his Son Matthew, member of Clonmel AC both finishing with the same time). Thanks to Dundrum AC for nice hospitality and generous refreshments

  

Tom Jordan Memorial 5 Mile Road Race, Race 2of 4 (Friday 04 May 2018)

Race number Two of the Outfield Sports 3 Counties Challenge 2018 took place at Portlaw last Friday 4th May We would like to thank the following Race Sponsor, Dermot O’Neill Pharmacy Portlaw Series sponsor, Outfield Sports Brian Nugent and Portlaw Red Cross for organising the race, providing a registration venue, providing race marshals, presenting prizes and providing refreshments. Thanks also to the Forge Bar, Portlaw for providing a great venue for prize-giving and post-race refreshments  All who helped with the timing, registration, results and refreshments.

Race was Kindly started by current European 1500 and 800 metre Indoor Champion , West Waterford AC’s Joe Gough. The following Winners

Bon Secours Hospital Great Limerick Run (Sunday 06 May 2018)

Jeffrey Brophy Travelled to Limerick on Sunday 6th April to take part in the Bon Secours Hospital Great Limerick Run 2018, Jeffery took part in the half marathon and ran a great race to finish in a new PB time of 1hr 27 mins, This is an improvement from 1hr 44min in 2016, well done Jeffrey.
