Blue Wall Waterford to Tramore 7.5mile Road Race (Saturday28 April 2018)
Two wins by Carrick on Suir AC Road Runners at the Blue Wall Waterford to Tramore 7.5 Mile Road Race last Saturday 28 April. The overall winner of the Men’s race was Andrew Connick of Ferrybank AC in 39.09 and the Women’s race was Ruth Fitzgerald of Waterford AC in 44.32. Our Club had 7 representatives in a field of almost 400 runners, starting at the Mall at Waterford and finishing at splash world Tramore, the race went ahead on bright sunny evening with the runners meeting a light head wind on route. Frist to cross the line in 11thplace was Patrick Roche,time 43.59, and winning 1sto/40. Followed by Seamus Ward in 82nd place, time 51.34 our next winner was Barry Torpey in a time of 52.13 won the 92nd place special prize presented by the family of Pat Flanagan, we also had fine performances by Mary Molloy in 135th time 55.02, Derek O’Dwyer in 209th time 59.27, Deirdre Power in 210th time 59.27 and Geraldine Houlihan in 314thin a time of 1.07.28. The after-race prize giving, and refreshments went ahead in the near by Tramore GAA hall with a generous supply of tea and fine food,
Debra Ireland Wicklow Mountain Half Marathon (Sunday 29 April 2018)
Eoghan Coughlan travel to Wicklow last Sunday 29 April to take part in the Debra Ireland Wicklow Mountain Half Marathon 2018, Eoghan put in an incredible performance over 13.1 miles to get over a series of hills and declines on rough and muddy terrain were he had to recover his running shoes 5 times, His finishing time was 1:49.26, which is excellent in these type of conditions, well done Eoghan.
