Carrick Road Runners Athletic Club, Co. Tipperary, Ireland
Fitzgerald,Fleming,Long Faugheen 5k
 
In ideal running conditions on Friday evening last, a field of ninety runners lined up for the Fitzgerald, Fleming, Long Faugheen 5k.  The men's race was won by Damien Murphy (West Waterford AC) in a time of 15:40. In second place was last year's winner, Niall Sheil (St. Killian’s AC) in 15:50.  There was a fantastic run from junior athlete Hugo Blair (Waterford AC) who clocked 16:14) to take the third prize just ahead of Kevin Coleman (Thurles Crokes AC) in 16:17.
The ladies' race was a very closely run contest with Jackie Carthy (Kilmore AC) taking the victory in a time of 18:20 just ahead of Claire Annan (Clonmel AC) who was just three seconds behind at the line.  In third place with a time of 19:01 was Jacqueline Hughes (Thurles Crokes).
Carrick AC is very grateful for the kind sponsorship provided by Fitzgerald, Fleming, Long Accountants, Carrick-on-Suir and were delighted to have Bobby Fitzgerald on hand to present the prizes.  Thanks also to Alan Treacy from Outfield Sports, Carrick-on-Suir for once again kindly sponsoring the overall series. A big thank you also to all who helped with stewarding, registration and race timing. As usual, Carrick-on-Suir Red Cross were on hand to provide the essential medical backup and we are very grateful to Finola Walsh and her team for providing this service. The Ladies' team event was won by the Waterford team of Sinéad Brannigan, Niamh Tebay and Siobhán Heylin. 
The Waterford AC Men’s team made it a double when Brian Swaby, Brian Cuddihy and Peter Hennessy took first prize.

County 10k Road Race
 
Well done to the three Carrick AC runners who took part in the County 10k Road race Championsiphs in Dundrum on Sunday.  Derek Walsh finished in 7th place with a time of 34:24, Michael O’Sullivan was 28th in 38:17 and Patrick Roche finished in 36th place with a time of 39:07.  The race was won by William Maunsell from Clonmel AC. Well done to all our runners.
 
Ferrybank 10K
 
Brian Murphy from Carrick AC had a fantastic win in the Angela Burns memorial 10k in Ferrybank on Sunday. Brian’s winning time was 36:34 ahead of Craig O’Brien (38:13) and Brian Cuddihy from Waterford AC (39:06).
